Ok, overdue post regarding Muay Thai training on Friday.
I went to Muay Thai training after 2 weeks of break(well not really, i was sick on both Fridays), expecting the normal training. Little did i know, i was in for a big surprise.
I reached the gym with Alvin kinda late. I expected the same amt of ppl, but not alot turned up. Only about 11 ppl, including us, showed. That was when i knew something was gonna be different. Why? Small class.
Well, anyway, i hoped for the best. The coach came in at about 4.30pm announced that today's training is gonna be physical training, meaning stamina training. I knew it was gonna be tough but i didn exactly know how tough , until 5 seconds later. 2 ROUNDS OF 5 MINUTES PADWORD. i was like OH SHIT. i could barely cope with the 2 rounds of normal 2 mins padwork.
And so, alvin went first and i held the pads for him. Holding the pads were painful tiring enough. But it was gonna get tougher. My turn came, and i tried my best at the start. I punched the pads with abt 70-80% of my energy, kicking and pushing. After 1 minute, i was dead tired. But i persevered. I held on till the first 5 minutes was up. I dont know how i held on, but i did. Thoughout the 5 minutes, all i ever thought about was : I wanna quit. It's a miracle i held on.
After that, i rested for awhile and did the second round. Now, after the second round, my arms and legs felt like jelly. It was just so tiring. During the last few seconds of the padwork, i gave my all at kicking with full power. IT FELT SO GOOD.
Throughout the training, i was thinking about giving up and quitting MT. But i know i'll regret it if i quit now. So, i'll hold on till im satisfied.
In a way, MT taught me alot more than NPCC. and im sure it will give me many more lessons abt perseverance and mental strength.
